Monel 400 ASTM standard, ductility impact properties, and resistance to saltwater corrosion are raised by the addition of nickel and molybdenum. Castability in thick or intricate sections is better than that of the 13% chromium alloy. Similarly, the alloy is more readily welded and requires lower preheat temperatures. The alloy is most generally used in normalized and tempered conditions, but variations in heat treatment are used to enhance specific properties. Quality makes us unique

Despite the fact the material presents a high resistance to cavitation, depending on the loading condition to which the turbine runner is subjected and on its geometry, fatigue cracks can develop, thus requiring repair by means of removing material around the crack, up to its complete elimination, and by depositing weld metal in the cavity followed by a grinding process, in order to recover the original runner geometry.
